SHAMIRA ARITA 

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. , an Alumna of McKinley Sr. High School, She has studied Dance in numerous areas, (Including Dallas, Tx. , Rustin, La., Shreveport, La., and Baton Rouge, La.) at various schools( Dallas Black Dance Theater, Grambling State University, Tari's School of Dance, Cangelosi's Dance Project, McKinley Sr. High Dance Ensemble etc..) With a late start, she has worked tirelessly to attain her goal of becoming a professionally trained Dancer, instructor, and performer. As years progressed into her professional career of dancing, she has found a passion for the modern/contemporary, lyrical, and ballet styles of dance. Since being introduced to the industry of the Arts, Shamira has done work with different companies in Baton Rouge, La. including performances for the Manship Theatre of Downtown Baton Rouge. Just recently performing as a back up dancer for the annual Essence Festival in New Orleans,La behind the amazing Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Tisha Martin Campbell. Shamira is currently a dance instructor for the Celerity Schools program based out of Los Angeles, Californina. She has an unquenchable desire to give back to the community all through the beauty of Dance; by raising awareness for many different statistics and situations.
